South Australia

Could you find your dream GP job in Adelaide, South Australia?

A vast and sparsely populated state which extends from the lush South up into the arid interior of Australia…

Known for it’s remote cattle stations, Flinders Ranges and great National Parks, opal mining at Coober Pedy, Kangaroo Island (ironically most  famous for its penguins), the extensive and lush wine growing district of the Barossa valley, the bottomless lake at Mt Gambier, beaches – all 20 of them in the metropolitan area, being the bridge between the East and West of Australia, and the backdrop for the exotic luxury train ride which runs like a ribbon through the country, North to South – the Ghan.

This unique mix of outback, rural and metropolitan areas in South Australia mean that it is perfectly possible to find good DPA GP jobs in South Australia and get the chance to reduce your moratorium.

Best known of course for it’s beautiful capital city, Adelaide

Life style in Adelaide

Adelaide is a great city for culture, food and wine!  With its museums, particularly of natural history, art galleries, concerts and famous Arts Festival, all gathered around the small city centre and the gardens of the Torrens River, life can feel like one big festival!

If culture is not your thing, explore the beaches, the national parks, and the mountains.  Go camping in the outback.  Study the wildlife, or take a trip  along the scenic Great Coastal Road to Melbourne.

As a little girl I remember on hot summer nights (and it can get both very hot and cold in Adelaide) our parents would take us to one of the city's beaches - Henley, Brighton or Glenelg perhaps - for a swim and supper, and sometimes a sleep-over on the beach! (I lived in Millicent, Mt Gambier, Murray Bridge, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, and Adelaide between the ages of 3 and 8 years old.)
